WLRM grants available through the first months of 2017

As the NSW EPA’s WLRM extension has been announced, many grant packages are winding down, however there are still a few grant streams that are open:

The final stages of these grants provide an opportunity for a variety of clients to undertake waste management projects in early 2017. The grant funding is summarised in the table below:

Grant Funding stream Eligible applicants Project requirements Funding per applicant Closing date
Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement (Round 4) NSW local councils, Industry and business who operate licensed waste management facilities in NSW Projects must demonstrate:

  • Enhancement: changes to existing facility to increase recovery; or
  • Expansion: changes that increase the processing capacity of an existing plant
$100,000 to $1,000,000 and up to 50% of capital costs 09/02/17
Organics Market Development

(Round 2)

Stream 1 Product Quality NSW local councils, business, NFPs, industry, government institutions Projects must demonstrate an improvement in the quality of recycled organics products and/or an understanding of the benefits of quality product $10,000 to $50,000 28/02/17
Community Litter Grants

(Round 3)

Community Volunteer Groups Projects must complete a local litter check at a litter hotspot prior to applying for a grant Up to $5,000, plus $500 to carry out a Local Litter Check 01/03/17
