WLRM Civil Construction Market Program Grants now open

The NSW EPA has opened the first round of its $2.5M Civil Construction Market Program (CCMP) under the NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM). The new grants provide an opportunity for eligible entities to reduce the amount of C&D material being sent to landfill by reusing and recycling resources in other NSW civil construction projects.

The NSW EPA has opened the first round of its $2.5M Civil Construction Market Program (CCMP) under the NSW Government Waste Less Recycle More initiative (WLRM).

EPA logo 2017The new grants provide an opportunity for eligible entities to reduce the amount of C&D material being sent to landfill by reusing and recycling resources in other NSW civil construction projects. The program focuses only on publicly owned construction projects in NSW (e.g. roads, parklands, storm water upgrades, buildings).

Applicant type Project requirements Funding per applicant Closing date
Organisations holding an ABN (local government, consultants, contractors, waste service providers) Projects must:

  • Obtain source material from civil project(s)
  • Transport material to process site
  • Process material into product(s)
  • Return product(s) to civil project(s)
  • Divert 10,000 tonnes from landfill in SMA (or 2,000 tonnes in Regional areas)
  • Run for between 6 months and 3 years (and be completed by March 2021)
Up to $150,000

  • Max. 50% on salaries
  • Max. 30% on equipment costs
  • Max. 50% on transport costs

What will not be funded?

Ongoing administration and operational costs (post-completion), programs funding devolved grants, one-off information events and commenced/completed projects.

N/A, Applications are ongoing until the funds are exhausted or June 2020.

Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

The following projects are not eligible for funding:

  • Interstate transport of waste
  • Waste to energy
